Name Plaques.

I've taken all the orders I can cope with for before Christmas, but am now taking commissions for next year.
Here are a few photos of some of the latest including a tiger for Josh, and an otter for Matthew.
Thanks to everyone for your orders, it's been such a pleasure painting these.

Original paintings made into quilted name plaques.

Each plaque is hand-painted...
sewn on to two layers of felted wool blanket...

I sew into the painting to give a quilted effect.
Add some twine to hang them up with.

Here's a bundle ready for delivery.
Each one is signed and dated.

Patchwork quilt.

Here's that patchwork quilt in more detail, it took hours!!

Time for bed.

Here's some photos I took last week with my friend Sarah's beautiful antique beds as props.
The butterflies are paper, cut from an old reference book.
The patchwork quilt I painted.

A few more things .....

I'm practicing putting stuff up on my blog, these are a few things I've been making recently.
Two little dogs.

Definitely good friends.

And this little fellow.
I was thinking about Tove Jansson's wonderful array of creatures in the Moomintroll books and was inspired to make up a forest animal of my own, I can just see him shyly peeping out from behind a tree.
I've made a few friends for him, others are still in my head or scribbled on bits of paper.

Here we go!

So, the children are growing and I have a little time to create, draw, paint and think.
I'm making these dolls, they are quite small and delicate, a more grown up version of a rag doll.
Each doll has it's own personality. Some wearing quite modern clothes, they look like my daughter Darcy and her friends, others look like they've wandered out of a fairy tale book.

More photos of my dolls.

Jemima
